Moving to Switzerland

Its been a while since I last wrote, so this mail should actually contain some stories about my trip to Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador but this is not the case. Instead let me tell you more about whats happening right now and about my future. We (Jenny and I) came back from our trip (which was amazing by the way) on 16th Ocotber, so just a little more than 2 weeks ago. And, as some of you know, on Monday I'll start working in a little private practice here in Switzerland. What happened is that just before we left for our trip I got offered a job and I took it (just didn't want to shout it out too loud before signing).
So I'll be working in the Physiotherapie Fit-In in Escholzmatt (www.biosphaere.ch , www.escholzmatt.ch). The practice is quite small, we are 2 PTs (physiotherapists) that will be working full time and our boss is in part time (both are from Holland). Furthermore there are some massage therapists working part time.
The village we are located in is pretty small as well, though still bigger than my home village Hittisau. Jenny and I found a flat in the neighbouring village Wiggen, which is even smaller and part of the administration of Escholzmatt. The villages are located halfway between Lucerne and Bern, both about 45 minutes in train. There are plenty of mountains around with loads of opportunities to go mountainbiking and also some for skiing/snowboarding (Marbachegg, Soerenberg). Actually it resembles the landscape of the Bregenzerwald quite a lot. So as you can see everything is there to make Michael happy :)

That's all for now, I'll be back with some stories and pics of our trip to Peru, Bolivia andEcuador.

Take care
M

Off to South America

Tomorrow I'll be on my way to Basel and then on Tuesday early morning Jenny and I will take off to South America, starting with Peru, Lima. From there we wanna head South, just a few km into Chile to go to the South of Bolivia. After touring around Bolivia for a couple of weeks (Salar the Uyuni, Amazonas, etc) we'll get back into Peru along lake Titikaka. From there we go North within Peru (Incas, Machu Pichu, etc) into Ecuador where we finalise our trip. So as you can imagine we are pretty excited, can't wait to leave!!

I doubt I'll be able to keep this site updated all the time, but I'll do my best to drop a line once in a while, pics will only be online after the trip.

Cheers

F I N I S H E D

with school!

Finally I'm done with my higher education, I graduated last week Thursday! And what a graduation it was. We had a nice ceremony at first and then a big party in the evening. The whole time was great! So now I am officially a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy. wwooooooooooooow, how impressive ;-)

Anyways, I had a good last few weeks in Amsterdam (if you forget about the weather) and managed to spend quite some time with my friends. Now I'm back home in Austria enjoying my time here. And then on the 24th I'll leave for South America with Jenny, can't wait.

back in Amsterdam

I've been back in Amsterdam for one week now, and what a week that has been; just great! :-)

Getting back here just felt like coming home, with Jenny here for the weekend, seeing all my friends again and one of my best friends getting married. Even going back to school wasn't too bad :-) But that's probably because it's not too busy at the moment, furthermore the weather is really great, just gotta love Amsterdam in summer :-). So I'm floating on a high right now... Will let you know if anything exciting happens....
